Portal Development consisting of following phases:-
1. Portal concept development:
This involves deciding what the portal is meant to do, what features it will have, how it will be planned, how it is intended to grow, who are it's target audience and what headings and subheadings the content on the portal is going to have etc.
This stage requires active participation of the client and us through medium of phones, faxes, e-mail and probably visit by the client to our place or visit by our portal director to your place. We will help finalize the portal objectives, the features it will have, the target audience, the headings and sub-headings, the implementation direction, the plan for development & marketing of the portal.
2. Portal content research:
This involves deciding the matter that is going to appear on the portal. It involves study, research, drawing content from internal and external sources, distilling the same, matching it with the vision and objectives of the portal etc. The copy write for each heading and sub heading will be provided. A draft will be given to the client for his approval. The approved material will be included in the portal. Unapproved material will be withdrawn.
3. Portal data collection-offline and online:
This involves collecting the database requirements for the portal's features from the market, net, libraries, internal sources, interviews, etc. (eg. for one portal under development we are gathering information of every town in the state of Andhra Pradesh like it's history, the important places to visit, the travel information, the lodging information etc). Database as specified by the client or as per the portal plan requirements will be developed by us.
4. Portal custom art and graphic development:
We will create the artistic visualization of the site. Give 2-3 different alternative graphics design to client to approve one of them. The same can be modified till finalization.
5. Portal content editing:
After what has been done in Portal content research the same will be taken, edited, complied to make it worth publication on the portal. Edited content, which is correct in english usage following principles of net publication.
6. Portal front end and back end software development:
Conventions followed in the design will be documented and given. File names conventions, font, color conventions etc will all be provided for easy updating and maintenance. All the pages on the portal will be made ready and presented for approval. The back end software like databases, servlets, ASPs etc will all be tested and given with documentation for the same.
7. Portal domain registration & hosting:

9. Portal maintenance and updating:
This involves continuously updating the content periodically, editing the old content, removing it, archiving it, introducing new content. etc. A monthly report will be sent to the areas of the portal, which have been maintained or updated.
10. Portal e-commerce enabling services:
This involves providing secure connections for e-commerce transactions to place orders, deliver invoices, pay by credit card etc. Also it involves establishing merchant account with a card service provider. We will use the services of industry reputed brands for these on our customer's behalf.
11. Portal management & administration:
This involves forming portal teams for doing all the above works, maintaining files, records, correspondence etc. It also involves establishing infrastructure for running the portal, a back office, and all systems required, clerical staff, furniture etc. For every portal a Portal Manager will have to be employed.
